1. Your lesson must be planned down to the minute. You will be asked to write a very detailed outline of what you are going to say and do. You should follow this outline:

• Introduction to topic- introduce your topic, define some terms, tell students what you expect them to know at the end of the lesson (up to5 min)
• Main lesson - Give notes; interesting ideas; maker relevant points; ask questions; illustrate with OHT, pictures. Make what you say very clear at precise. DON'T TRY TO GIVE TOO MUCH INFORMATON!! (10 min including demo)
• Demonstration- use this to illustrate at least one of your points
• Review- Ask questions to the class about what you just taught them;Ask for any other questions;limit the questions so that you don't run overtime; review by going over 4 or five points again. (5 min)
• Quiz- Make up a small quiz;no more than 5 questions; short answers on what you have taught them. You may or may not let them use their notes. (5 min)
• Hand in outline and notes and all materials after lesson
• Mark the quiz and record it on recording sheet you have prepared

Points will be taken off if you run significantly over or under your allotted time limit.

You will be graded on the following points:

• Use of visual aids (aside from demo) (10 )
• General presentation (25)
• Lesson outline (15)
• Demonstration/experiment (10)
• Timing and Pace (10)
• Quiz content and marking (5)
• Knowledge of your subject (20)
• Voice projection and clarity (5)

• Total possible points = 100
