I. Lost on the
Moon
You are a crew member of a spaceship that has just crashed on the moon. You were originally scheduled to rendezvous with the mother ship located on the lighted surface of the moon, 200 miles away. However, the crash has ruined your ship and destroyed almost all of the equipment on board. Only the 15 items below survived the landing undamaged.
The survival of your crew depends on reaching the mother ship. However, since you can't take everything you must choose the most improtant articles to bring along on the 200 mile trip. Your task is to rank the 15 items in terms of their importance to your survival. Place number 1 by the most important and so on through number 15, the least important. You also need to write the reason why you ranked each item as you did.
Each person should first complete this activity individually. Then in groups of 4-7 persons, you should share your individual solutions. You will need to agree on one group ranking that best satisfies all group members. Of course, everyone in the group may not be completely satisfied but come as close as you can in reaching your decisions. As much a s possible you should avoid using, mathematical averaging, majority votes or flipping a coin.
